Jens Rasmusen: 4th Child of Rasmus and Anne

Departure List Vester Velling Parish 1837, page 204. Jens Rasmusen, 15 years old, leaving for the Houlbjerg parish.

Houlbjerg Parish Census 1840, page 9. Jens Rasmusen is living with Christen Oleson, a farmer, and his family. Jens is listed as a "Tjenestekarl" or servant. Jens later marries a Katrine Christensdatter who may be related to this family.

Hjorthede parish census 1845, page 7. Jens has moved to Hjorthede parish and is living with Jens Thougaard, a church worker and schoolteacher, and his family. Jens is 23 and is a servant. His future wife, Katrine Christensdatter, age 22, is also living with the family and is listed as a servant as well.

Sonder Rind Parish Register, page 215. Marraige of Jens Rasmusen of Hvorslev to Katrine Christensdatter of Rind in 1846. I'm not sure what date is listed for the marraige. Jens birthday is listed as November 30, 1822 making him 24 years old. Katrine's birthdate is February 6, 1823.

Sonder Rind Parish census 1850, page 8. Jens Rasmusen, age 28, and Katrine Christensdatter, age 27 living in Sonder Rind Parish. Jens is a laborer living on his own plot of land. They have a daughter Ane Jensen, age 3.

Sonder Rind parish census 1855, page 4. Jens is 32, Katrine is 32. They have three children, Ane is 8, Mette Kathrine (Christensen) is 5 and Rasine is 2. I also notice it lists their religion as Lutheran.

Sonder Rind parish census 1860, page 4. Jens family is on the top right page. Both he and Kathrine are 37. Mette Kathrine is 10 and Rasine is 7. Ane is not living with them. Jens is still listed as a "huusfader, lever af sin jordlod, daglejer" or laborer on his own plot of land.

Sonder Rind parish census 1870, page 9. Jens is 47 and Kathrine is 46. They have a fourth child listed, Christine(a?) who is 6 years old. The first three children are no longer living with them.

Sonder Rind parish census, 1880, page 17. Jens and Kathrine are 56. She is listed as Kathrine "born" Christensdatter. Ane Jensen, age 33, is living in their house with her husband Niels Johansen Berg, age 24. Niels is a laborer and is from Thorning Parish in Viborg county. Niels and Ane have two children, Anette Kathrine Johansen, age 4 and another child listed as "Et Udøbt Drengebarn" or an unbaptized male child less than one year old. Rasine, age 26, is also living with them and is married to Christen Pedersen, age 29, also a laborer and from Hem parish, Viborg County. They have 1 child listed as an unbaptized girl less than one year old. All the children were born in Sonder Rind parish.

Sonder Rind 1890 census, page 4. Jens and Kathrine are 66 and living alone. He is listed as a "Huusmaand'" or farmer.

Sonder Rind parish register, page 94. Death of Jens Rasmus(s)en on November 25, 1891. His wife is still living at this time as he is listed as married. He was buried December 2, 1891. He is listed as a Husmand, born in Hvorslev parish.
