Jens Jensen Family: Son of Jens Johansen

Birth, Gjern parish register, Skenderborg county, page 55. Ane Sophie Jensen is born March 5, 1833 to Jens Pedersen and Johanne Sorensdatter of Norup. Ane Sophie is the future wife of Jens Jensen. Jens birth is documented in a prior post and was born July 7, 1829 in Hvorslev and was confirmed in 1844 (page 104 Hvorslev parish register). In 1857 Ane Sophie arrives from Sall parish and her husband is listed as Jens Jensen (page 9, Arrival list, Hvorslev parish register).

Marriage, Sall parish register, page 159. Jens Jensen of Hvorslev, age 27, marries Ane Sophie Jensen of Sall, age 23 years. This was the first marriage for both. They are married December 12, 1856. Niels Sorensen and Peder Jensen (I assume this is his brother). Jens is found in Hvorslev in the 1834, 1840, and 1845 Census's. He is in Sonder Vinge in 1850. I found them in the arrival list to Hvorslev in 1857 from Sall and that is how I found their marriage record. Sall is a ways from Ane Sophie's birthplace, but nonetheless they get together.

1860 Hvorslev parish register, page 6. Family #1 in Amstrup is Jens Jensen, age 31, Ane Sophie, age 27. They have no children listed but their first child Mariane Jensen had died just prior to this census, and Ane Sophie was pregnant with their second.

1870 Hvorslev parish census, page 13. Family #15 in amstrup is Jens Jensen's family. Jens is 40, Ane Sophie is 36. Their oldest Mariane is 9, Jens Johan is 6, Hanne Laurs or Laura is 4, a Jens is 3 (I'm not sure who this is because the Jens they have was born between Mariane and Jens Johan), and Anton Jensen, who is 1.

1880 Hvorslev parish census, page 42. Jens is 50, Ane Sophie is 46, Hanne Laur? Jensen is 13, Anton is 10, Ane Marie Kirstine is 7, and twins Severine Kirstine and Rasmine are 2. Jens is listed as a farmer and carpenter.

1890 Hvorslev parish census, page 7. Family #12 in Amstrup is Jens, age 60, Ane Sofie, age 57, Severine Kirstine and Rasmine, both age 12.

1901 Hvorslev parish census, page 379. Jens is listed as being born July 7, 1829; Ane Sofie is born March 5, 1833, and Rasmine Jensen is born July 2, 1877.

Death, Hvorslev parish register, page 186. Ane Sophie dies April 18, 1910 in Amstrup and is buried at the Hvorslev church April 25. She was the daughter of Farmer Jens Aagaard and his wife Johanne Sorensdatter of Sall. She was married to Jens Jensen of Amstrup. She was 77 years old.

1911 Hvorslev parish census, page 32. Family #2 is Amstrup is Jens Jensen Aagaard born February 19, 1863, his wife ? Marie Poulsen born May 5, 1874 in ?. Their children are Anton Marius Jensen Aagaard born October 8, 1897 in Hvorslev, Theobold Edmond Rynhardt Dybdal Poulsen born July 27, 1799 in Viborg, Anger Sofus Aagaard born March 3, 1909? in Hvorslev. Living with them is Jens Jensen born July 7, 1829 and Jens twin daughters Severine Kirstine and Rasmine born July 2, 1878.

Death, Hvorslev parish register, page 159. Jens Jensen dies April 3, 1915 in Amstrup and is buried April 10. He was widowed from his wife Ane Sofie Jensdatter. He was the son of farmer Jens Johansen and Mariane Pedersdatter of Hvorslev. He was 85 years old.
