Jens Jensen Aagaard Family (Part 1)

Mammen parish register, page 62. Birth of Christine Pedersen August 6, 1865 and christened September 21. Her father is Peder Christensen and Ane Catherine Hansdatter. Christine would become the first wife of Jens Jensen Aagard.

Birth, Hvorslev parish register, page 42. Jens Jensen Aagaard is born February 19, 1868. I do not know why Aagaard is given as a last name. There were several Jens Jensen's born around this time in Hvorslev and perhaps it was a way to distinguish him from others. His future children take the last name of Aagaard and not Jensen. All of Jen's brothers and sisters do not have Aagaard after thier name. He is the third child born to Jens Jensen and Ane Sophie Jensdatter.

Birth, Humlum parish register, Ringobing county, page 53. Gjurtrud Marie Poulsen is born May 5, 1874 and christened June 7. Her parents are Lars Poulsen and Sophie Dorthe Christensen. Sophie Dorthe was 30 years old at the time of birth. Gjurtrud is the second wife of Jens Jensen Aagaard.

Confirmation, Hvorslev parish register, page 87. Jens Jensen is confirmed in 1877.

Birth, Mammen parish register, page 21. Lars Peder Nielsen is born March 3, 1886 to the unmarried girl Christine Pedersen. The father is Lars Peder Nielsen of Helstrup. He was christened April 22. Lars would be raised by Jens Jensen and Christine after they are married in several years. The writing in the last several columns was placed in 1951 and states that according to royal ?? of October 3, 1931, Lars has been granted permission to be named: Lars Peter Aagaard.

Marriage, Mammen parish register, page 109. Jens Jensen, age 26 of Gjerning parish marries Christine Pedersen of Helsgaard, age 23, on April 12, 1889. Witnesses were Jens Jensen of Amstrup and Peder Christensen of Halgaard. This was the first marriage for both.

Birth, Gjerning parish register, page 149. Ane Sofie Jensen is born January 14, 1889. She has the same name as Jens mother. She is christened March 3.

1890 Gerning parish census. Jens and Christine are living on the farm of Ane Sorensen. Jens is 26, Kirstine is 24. Lars Peter is 3 and Ane Sofie Jensen is 1.

Birth, Gjerning parish register, page 153. Pethrine Karoline Olivia Jensen is born December 10, 1890 and christened February 8, 1891.

Birth, Hvorslev parish register, page 63. Jensine Johanne Jensen Aagaard is born December 23, 1892. She is christened March 19. The family is living in Amstrup at this time.

Birth, Hvorslev parish register, page 9. Jens Johan Jensen Aagaard is born February 22, 1894 in Amstrup. Christine was 28 years old at the time. He is christened may 14.

Birth, Hvorslev parish register, page 17. Carl Otto Aagaard Jensen Aagaard ? is born June 15, 1896 and christened July 12, 1896. Christine was 30 years old. The name is written as I've written it.

Birth, Hvorslev parish register, page 21. Anton Marius Jensen Aagaard is born October 8, 1897 in Amstrup and is christened December 26. I think that the Jens Johan Jensen in the witness column is Jen's brother and is living in Amstrup at this time.

Death, Hvorslev parish register, page 179. Kristine Pedersen dies December 16, 1898 and is buried December 22. She was the wife of Jens Jensen (Aagaard) and died in Amstrup Mark, born in Mammen. She was 32 years old. No cause of death is listed.
