Lars Jensen Family: Lena Nelson's paternal great uncle (Brother of Christen Jensen)

 Birth, Karup parish register, page 254.  Born in 1796 to Jens Christensen and ? Larsdatter is Lars Jensen.  He is the third in the family.  His oldest brother is Christen Jensen who is the grandfather to Nicolena Nelson.

 Marriage, Volstrup parish register, page 86.  Lars Jensen a farm hand in Volstrup, age 32, marries Maren Jensdatter, age 23, born in Bonholt.  Present are Mads Nielsen and Christen Jensen.  They are married December 26, 1828 at the church.

 Birth, Volstrup parish register, page 46.  Kirsten Larsdatter is born June 19, 1829 to Lars Jensen and Maren Jensdatter of Volstrup.  Christen Jensen is present who is Lars older brother.

 Birth, Horby parish register, page 70.  Inger Larsdatter is born February 26, 1831.

 Birth, Horby parish register, page 66.  Jensine Marie Larsdatter is born February 20, 1834.

 1834 Horby parish census, page 22.  Family #46 in Lars (37), Maren (28), Kirsten (5), Inger (3) and the widow Inger Larsdatter (69) who is Lars's mother.

 Birth, Horby parish register, page 11.  Jens Larsen is born September 14, 1837.

 1840 Horby parish register, page 8.  Lars (44), Maren (35), Kirsten (11), Inger (9), Jensine Marie (6), Jens (3), Inger Larsdatter (78).

 Birth, Horby parish register, page 18.  Niels Peter Larsen is born August 1, 1842.

Birth, Horby parish register, page 21.  Peder Christian Larsen is born March 31, 1844.
 

 Death, Horby parish register, page 247.  Inger Larsdatter, Lars's mother, passes away on November 13, 1844 and is buried November 24.  She is listed as Lars Jensen's Mother and was 80 years old.

 1845 Horby parish census, page 11.  Lars (49), Maren (40), Inger (14), Jensine Marie (11), Jens (8), Niels Peter (3), Peder Christian (1), and living with them is Anna Hansdatter age 72.

 1850 Horby parish census, page 11.  Lars (54), Maren (45), Jensine Marie (16), Niels Peter (8), Peder Christian (6), Anna Hansdatter, widow and 77.  I wonder if Jens died.  

 1855 Horby parish census, page 9.  Lars (59), Maren (50), Inger (24, unmarried), Niels Peder (13), Peder Christian (11), Anna Hansdatter (82).

 1860 Horby parish census, page 8.  Lars (64), Maren (5?), Peder Christian (16)

 1870 Horby parish census, page 20.  Lars (72), Maren (64).

 Death, Horby parish register, page 215.  Maren Jensdatter passes away on May 9, 1872 and is buried May 19.  Wife of Lars Jensen and she was 66.

Horby parish register, page 53.  Lars Jensen is 83 and is living with is daughter Inger's family.  Her husband is Christian Carl Thomasen (47) born in Thorslev.  Inger (48), Their children are Maren Kirstine (16), Marie Mathilde (11), ? Christian (7), Jens Christian (4).

Death, Horby parish register, page 120.  Lars Jensen passes away September 26, 1887 and is buried October 4.  He was 91 years old.

Jens Christensen Family: Paternal great grandfather to Lena Nelson

1801 Karup parish census.  Jens Christensen  is the father of Christen Jensen who was the paternal grandfather to Lena Nelson.  He is listed as the second to last family on the page.  Jens is 48.  Inger is 37.  Their children are Christen (7), Lars (4), and Maren (1).

Peder Jensen and Kirsten Pedersdatter Family: Paternal Grandfather to Nicolena Nelson

 Christening, Ugilt parish register, page 108.  Jens Christensen and Sinned or Zinned Nielsdatter christen their son Peder on July 27, 1766.  I do not yet know about Peder's siblings but the records were well preserved in Ugilt.

 Engagement and Marriage, Ugilt parish register, page 252.  On June 12 it appears that a Peder Jensen and Kirsten Pedersdatter are betrothed.  They are both from Melbech.  They are married July 22.

 Christening, Taars parish register, page 99.  Jens Pedersen is christened September 30, 1792 in the Taars parish.  Jens's family is discussed in the prior post as he is the father of Nicolena.  He was born in the village of Grosdall?.  Jens Christensen (grandfather) is not listed in those present and must have died by this time.

 Christening, Ugilt parish register, page 281.  The family has moved back to Ugilt parish and have a daughter who is christened April 26, 1795.  She does not live beyond 1801 because she is not listed in the census for the family at that time.  Her name is the top right corner and I think it is Zinne who would have been the name of Peder Jensen's mother.

 Christening, Ugilt parish register, page 15.  Christen Pedersen is born and christened in June of 1798.  The exact day is not legible.  He is the last of three children that I can find for Peder and Kirsten.

1801 Taars parish register, page 3.  Peder (last name is Broen) and Kirsten Pedersdatter are 36 and 40 years old respectively.  Jens is 8 and Christen is 3.  Sinned is not listed and must have passed away.  

 1834 Taars parish census, page 29.  Peder Jensen Broen (?) age 68 and his wife Kirsten Pedersdatter (age 75) are living with their son Christen Pedersen age 37 and his wife Maren Laursdatter, age 36.  Christen and Maren have 4 children Laurs Peter Christensen (11), Peder Christensen (4), Ane Marrete Christensdatter (9), and Kirsten Christensdatter (1).  They are family #28.

 1840 Taars Census, page 20.  Peder Jensen (74) and Kirsten Pedersdatter (80) are living in Taars parish.  Their lot is named Et Hu? Broen.  Christen Pedersen and family is not there anymore.  Maren, his wife, I think passed away on May 3, 1840 and I will look for that family at another time.

1845 Taars parish census, page 36.  Family #14 is Peder Jensen Broen, age 78 and Kirsten Pedersdatter, age 84.  They were both born in Ugilt.  They are living in the village of Sessing.

 Death, Taars parish register, page 132.  Kirsten Pedersdatter passes away February 22, 1845 and is buried March 2.  Her husband was Peder Broen of Sessing.  She was 84.

 1850 Taars parish census, page 26.  In Sessing, Peder Jensen is 83 and a widow who was born in Ugilt.  He is living with Ane Kathrine Jensdatter (31) and Kirstine Marie Jensen (5) both born in Torslev.

Death, Taars parish register, page 222.  Peder Jensen dies October 20th and is buried October 30th.  The record reports that he lived in Sessing and was 92 years old.  He was born in Ugilt and his father was Jens Christensen.

Jens Pedersen: Father of Kirsten Marie Jensdatter

 Marriage, Lendum parish register, page 132.  Entry #43 shows widower Jens Pedersen, age 33 from Hoevbaarn, Taars parish marrying Mariane Mortensdatter, 22 years of Lengholm?.  The wedding occurred October 2, 1825.  The couple is married in Lendum but lives in Taars.  This information was also found on the family group sheet from Lena Pack.  I had searched high and low for this document but finally found the correct information on the group sheet.  Thank you Lena Pack.  

Birth, Taars parish register, page 28.  Entry #9 is Morten Christian Jensen, born June 17, 1826 in Hovedbaarn (clearest writing of that place yet).  Christened September 17.
  

 Death, Taars parish register, page 159.  The first entry on the page listed as #9 is Morten Christian Jensen, who dies June 29, 1827 and is buried June 8.  His father was Jens Pedersen of Hovedbaarn.  He was 1 year old.

 Birth, Taars parish register, page 11.  Entry #13 is for Morten Christian Jensen born May 20, 1828 and christened July 13.  Listed is a Peder Jensen from Sessing which may be Jen's father putting his age at this time around 63 years old.  Again we see an example of naming a child the same name as a prior child who passed away.

 Birth, Taars parish register, page 103.  Entry #10 is Dorthea Christine Jensen born April 17, 1831.  Peder Jensen of Sessing is present again.  Dorthea was the name of Jens Pedersen's first wife.

 Birth, Taars parish register, page 115.  Entry #18 is for our direct ancestor, Kirsten Marie Jensdatter, born October 13, 1833 and christened October 27.  The family is still in Hovedbaarn.  I see a person from Sessing but it doesn't look like Peder Jensen.
 

 1834 Taars parish census.  Family #38 in Hovedbaarn is Jens Pedersen, 42 and a farmer.  His wife Mariane Mortensdatter is 33.  They have 4 children living with them, Hans Peter (9), Morten Chr. (6), Dorthe Christine (3), and Kirsten Marie (1).

Birth, Taars parish register, page 52.  Entry #9 is Christian Jensen born April 11, 1836 and christened May 23.  Peder Jensen from Sessing is listed.  This is the last child I have found born to the couple.

 Death, Taars parish register, page 208.  The first entry on the page is Christian Jensen who dies May 9, 1837 and is buried May 15.  He was the son of Jens Pedersen of Hovedborn and was 1 1/2 years old.

 1840 Taars parish census, page 12.  Family #47, living in Hovedborn is Jens Pedersen (50), Mariane Mortensdatter (38), Hans Peter (15), Morten Christian (12), Dorthea Christine (9), and Kirsten Marie (6).  Jens is listed as the owner of the house and a shoemaker.

 1845 Taars parish census, page 18.  Jens Pedersen (53) born in Taars, Mariane Mortensdatter (42) born in Tornby parish.  At home with them are the two daughters Dorthea (13) and Kirsten (11).  Jens was a small farmer and a shoemaker.

 1850 Taars parish register, page 11.  The first family listed is Jens Pedersen (64) living in Hovedborn in Barholt village.  Mariane (46), Hans (26), Morten Christian (22) and Dorthea (19) are living at home.

 1855 Taars parish register, page 17.  Entry #41 is Jens Pedersen (65), Mariane (53), Morten (27) unmarried and a hired hand, Dorthe Christine (24) unmarried and a weaver, Kirsten Marie (22) unmarried and a tailor.  Living with them is a Kirsten Marie Pedersdatter (20) a weaver apprentice born in Mosberg, Horring, Denmark and a Jens Christian Jensen (3) who appears to be a child dependent on Jens and Mariane and was born in Taars.

 1860 Taars parish census, page 6.  The last entry on the right page is Jens Pedersen (71) and Mariane Mortensdatter (56).  No children are living with them.

 Death, Taars parish register, page 224.  The second to last entry on the page is Mariane Mortensdatter who dies October 22, 1863 and is buried on November 1.  She was the wife of Jens Pedersen of Hovedborn.  Born in Tornby parish.  She was 61 years old so born around 1803.

 1870 Taars parish census, page 20.  Family #15 is Jens Pedersen in Hovedborn.  He is 80 and a widower.  Born in Taars.

Death, Taars parish register, page 217.  Jens Pedersen is the last entry on the page.  He dies June 3, 1873 and is buried on June 9.  It says he was 86 years old.  If you look through the census documents his age is hardly correct and I don't think this one is correct either.  If born in 1792 and he dies in 1873 his age would have been roughly 81 years old.

Jens Pedersen: Kirsten Marie Jensdatter's Father and family

Christening, Taars parish register, page 99.  Jens Pedersen is christened on September 30th, 1792.  He would have been born a few months before this.  I know that he was born in Taars according to the census documents.  We have a family group sheet that also has this same information from Lena Marie Hansen Pack in 1981.  From the census documents I know his birth is about 1792 and this is the only Jens born around that time in Taars.  I think I can make out the names of Peder Jensen and Kirsten Pedersdatter in the first line which are the names of his parents on the family group sheet.

 1801 Taars parish census.  The 7th family on the page is Peder ? (In the indexed version it's Skoven) who is 36, his wife Kirsten Pedersdatter, age 40, Jens Pedersen who is 8, Christen Pedersen who is 3.  There is a Sidsel Pedersdatter who is living with them who is 45 who I don't think was a family member but living with them out of "charity." They are living in the village of Sessing.  

 Marriage, Bjergby parish register, page 112.  Jens Pedersen age 28 from Taars parish married Dorthe Hansdatter on Oct 29, 1820.  Peder Jensen is present from Taars parish, probably Jens father.  I've searched the birth registry from this parish and Taars and have only found one birth between them in those places as shown below:

 Birth, Taars parish register page 44.  The first name is Hans Peter Jensen born April 19, 1825 to Jens Pedersen and Dorthe Hansdatter of Hovelsbaarn (?).  This is their only child that I have found between them.  They could have lived in a different parish and had children that didn't survive but that would require searching the parish registers where they lived (I don't) and finding them.

Death, Taars parish register, Opslag 177.  Dorth Hansdatter passes away on May 1, 1825 and is buried May 8.  This event occurred just a few weeks after the birth of Hans.  She lived in Hovedbaarn.  I think she was 27.  No cause of death was given--perhaps related to a complication from childbirth?  I do not know where she was born yet or anything about her family but I'll work on it.   Jens remarries which I will show in my next post.
