Anders Jensen's Maternal Grandmother Else Jeppesdatter and Family

 Hjorring Parish Census Map.  The majority of the parishes mentioned are in Horns County.  Else Jeppesdatter was the maternal grandmother of Anders Jensen who was the father of Nicolena who married Charles Frederick Nelson.   In the following post I have found all the children listed on familysearch.org except one, Marie, born March 19, 1795 supposedly listed in the Flade register.  I think many of the children die but again am only able to find one death record.    

 Birth, Aasted Parish, page 57.  Else is born to Jep Jensen? and Anne Jensdatter and is christened December 4, 1763.  I cannot find her husband's birth record but the 1787 census puts him being born around 1754.  

 Marriage, Aasted parish, page 158.  On October 4, 1783, Christen Nielsen (?) and Else Jeppesdatter are married.  

 Birth, Gaerum parish, page 351.  On the top of the page Anne is born to Christen ? and Else Jeppesdatter in January of 1784.

 Birth, Gaerum parish, page 352.  Anne Catherine is born to Christen Nielsen and Else Jeppesdatter in 1785.  The left side of the page is lost so I'm not sure what month or day she was christened.  The end of the paragraph says July 19 which may be her birthdate.  

 Birth, Gaerum parish, page 353.  Niels is born or christened to Christen Nielsen and Else on December 2, 1786.

 1787 Gaerum parish census, page 3.  Christen Nielsen is 33.  Else Jeppesdatter is 24.  Anne is 3, Cathrine is 2 and Niels is 1.  Also living with them is Jens Nielsen, Christen's brother.

 Birth, Gaerum parish, page 353.  Karen is born or christened July 6, 1788.

 Birth, Gaerum parish, page 134.  Jeppe is born April 6, 1791.

 Death, Gaerum parish, page 247.  Christen Nielsen's son Jeppe dies July 1, 1791.

 Birth, Gaerum parish register, page 134.  On the same page as Jeppe's birth is Maren, the last entry, born May 6, 1792.  They did have a Karen that was born in 1788 so she may have died though I cannot find a death record for her.  

 Birth, Gaerum parish register, page 137.  Karen is born in June of 1794.

 Birth, Flade parish register, page 23.  The family has not moved as they are in Kioret (sp?) where all of their other children have been born but they entry is in a different parish for whatever reason.  Kirsten is born or christened March 24, 1796.

 Birth, Gaerum parish register, page 140.  Maria is born March 19, 1797.

 Birth, Gaerum parish register, page 142.  Christiane is born Mar 14, 1799.  This would be the last child born to the couple as in the 1801 census Else is listed as a widow so Christen Nielsen dies between 1799 and 1801.

 1801 Gaerum parish census, page 11.  Else is living in Kjaeret but is now a widow.  She is living with another couple.  Her only two children living with her are Anne Cathrine, 15, and Christiane, age 2.

Death, Gaerum parish register, page 157.  The widow Else Jeppesdatter dies November 16, 1816.  She was the wife of Christen Nielsen and was 53 years old.

1940 US Census: Carlos Nelson

1940 US Census.  Carlos and Louesa Nelson are listed as being born in Utah.  They are both 60 years old.  They live in Brigham City, Utah.  Carlos is a barber who runs a barber shop.  No occupation is listed for Louesa.

Jens Christensen's Death Record

Death, Karup parish register, page 141.  Jens Christensen dies January 14, 1831.  He lived in/at Kir?.  He was 73 years old.  No cause of death is listed.  Jens is the grandfather to Nicolena.

Maren Jensdatter: Younger sister to Christen Jensen (Nicolena's grandfather)

 1834 Karup parish census, page 3.  I knew that Christen Jensen had a sister named Maren as I saw her on the 1801 census for the Jens Christensen family.  She was 1 years old at the time.  I did not find her birth in the Karup parish register and unfortunately the Horby parish register is illegible during this time.  I did search for her in the danish census records and found this family:  Peder Christian Pedersen age 28 living at Hojenshuus is married to a Maren Jensdatter, age 34.  They have two children:  Inger Kirstine, 7, and Jens Peter Pedersen, age 3.  As I researched this family, I made enough connections to where I am quite confident that this is Jens Christensens daughter and Christen Jensen's younger sister.

 Birth_Karup parish register, page 6.  Jens Peter is born March 19, 1826, to the unmarried Maren Jensdatter of Kir?.  The father is Peder Christian Pedersen.
 

 Death, Karup parish register, page 141.  Jens Peter Pedersen dies July 21, 1826.  He was 1/3 years olds.

 Marriage, Karup parish register, page 91.  Maren Jensdatter, age 34 marries Peder Christian Pedersen, age 20.  Present are Peder Jensen and Christen Jensen of Lykken?.  Maren had a brother named Christen Jensen.  They are married October 13, 1826.

 Birth, Karup parish, register, page 37.  Inger Kirstine is born June 3, 1827.  Present people include a man named Jens Christensen from K?rkedah?.  Maren's father's name was Jens Christensen.  The name of where he lives is also associated with Maren when she is married.  

 Birth, Karup parish register, page 7.  Jens Peter Pedersen is born March 28, 1831.  Jens Christensen is not listed in the witness section so I assumed he must have died between 1827 and 1831.  Sure enough I found a death record for Jens Christensen in page 141 of the Karup register for January 14, 1831.  He is listed as 73 years old.  Jen's wife Inger is living with her son Lars in the 1834 Horby census as documented in a prior post.  Also Inger is a family name and Maren did name a daughter Inger.

 Birth, Karup parish register, page 9.  Christian Pedersen is born May 17, 1834.  Christen Jensen of Hoj? is listed.  Again Maren's brother was named Christen Jensen and he lived in Hjorby the neighboring parish.

Death, Karup parish register, page 155.  Maren dies for an unwritten reason April 16, 1840.  She is listed as 42.  The family is not in the 1840 Karup census and I cannot find them on that census year in Hjorring or in any other census after.

Niels Peter Larsen Family: 4th child of Lars Jensen

 Marriage, Horby parish register, page 127.  Niels Peter Larsen, 21 1/2 years of Kirret? marries Maren Pedersen, 21 1/2 years of Sm?rgaarden.  Present is Niels father Lars Jensen of Kjoret?.  March 4, 1864.

 Birth, Horby parish register, page 54.  Maren Petrine Henriette Larsen is born May 2, 1864.

 Birth, Skaeve parish register, page, 96.  Doris Elise Kirstine Larsen is born August 1, 1868.

 Death, Skaeve parish register, page 91.  Doris Elise passes away May 18, 1884.

1870 Skaeve census, page 29.  Niels Peter Larsen is family #2.  He is 27.  Maren is 26.  Maren Petrine and Doris Elise are 5 and 1.  Maren is from ?mly L?und?

  Birth, Skaeve parish register, page 14.  Jens Peter Lauritz Larsen is born January 27, 1871.

  Birth, Skaeve parish register, page 117.  Martine Larsine Marie Larsen is born August 6, 1873.

  Birth, Skaeve parish register, page 34.  Carl Henrik Larsen is born December 29, 1875.

 Death, Skaeve parish register, page 82.  Inger Marie Ane Sofie Larsen dies November 21, 1880.

  Birth, Skaeve parish register, page 159.  Inger Marie Ane Sofie Villhelmine Larsen is born May 5, 1882.

  Birth, Skaeve parish register, page 172.  Doris Elise Kirstine Larsen is born October 18, 1884.

 1880 Skaeve Census, page 17.  Niels Peter is 37, Maren 36, Doris Elise 11, Jens Peter 9, Martine 6, Karl 4, and unbaptized child (Inger) is 1.  Maren is from ?by sogn on Fyen.

1890 Skaeve Census, page 106. Niels is 48, Maren is 47.  Karl is 8, Inger is 7, Doris is 5.
