Birth, Vindum parish register, page 190. Mette Marie is born April 28th, 1811 to Nicolai Andreasen in Hedegaard. Metter Marie was the 5th of 8 children born to Nicolai and his wife Johanne Pedersdatter.

Confirmation, Vindum parish register, page 81. Mette Marie of Hedegaard is confirmed in 1821. She was vaccinated in 1812. I think her birthday is listed as April 2, 1811 (April 28th in the document above).

Marraige, Vindum parish register, page 104. Herman Nielsen, 28 years old of Vindum and Mette Marie Nicolaisen, age 19 of Hedegaard are married July 17, 1830. Witnesses are Peder Boch and Christen Madsen.

Birth and Christening, Vindum parish register, page 155. Karen is born to Nicolai of Hedegaard on August 27, 1802. She is christened on 17 p. trinitas or October 10, 1802. She is the first child born to Nicolai and Johanne who were married the year before.

Birth and Christening, Vindum parish register, page 183. Andreas Nicolaisen is born on October 10, 1809. He is christened on November 5th with an entry several entries below his birth entry.

Confirmation, Vindum parish register, page 80. Andreas is confirmed in 1821. His birth which is one day before the entry in the above record, is October 9, 1809.

Birth, Vindum parish register, page 13. Ane Nicolaisdatter is born July 1, 1816. Many witnesses are listed. She is introduced in the church August 11, 1816.

Birth, Vindum parish register, page 23. Jensine is born March 14, 1818 and is the last child born to Nicolai and Johanne.

Brigham Young and Genealogy

Archibald F. Bennett, a prominent genealogist, said, "Sister Susa Young Gates...once asked her father (Brigham Young) how it would ever be possible to accomplish the great amount of temple work that must be done, if all are given a full opportunity for exaltation. Anton Frits Bidstrup: Husband to Mette Marie Hermansen

Birth, Solbjerg parish register, page 56. In Løve district, Holbæk county Anton Frits Bidstrup is born on September 11, 1835 to Carl Gustav Bidstrup and Ane Pedersdatter. He has a twin brother Carl Nicolai Bidstrup.
Death, Vindum parish register, page 175. Anton passes away on August 22, 1907 in Vindum. Mette Marie had died many years earlier and no census is available to tell me who he was living with. It appears that he died in a different parish but was buried in Vindum on August 28, 1907. He was 71 years old. In his name there is a small "H" after the "T" and throughout his life his name was spelled either Anton or Anthon in the records that I've found.

Herman Nielsen: Only surviving child of Niels Hermansen

Birth, Vindum parish register, page 190. Mette Marie Nicolaisdatter is born on April 28, 1811 in Hedegaard which must be a village within the Vindum parish. Her father is Nicolaj or Nicolai Andreasen. This is the first wife of Herman Nielsen by which he has four children.

Death, Vindum parish register, page 50. Peter Emil Marius Bistrup dies on February 21, 1881 and is buried February 27, 1881. He was the 7th and last child of Anthon and Mette Marie. He was four months old.

Death, Vindum parish register, page 85. Mette Marie Hermansen leaves her family of six children and her husband on August 25, 1887 and is buried August 31, 1887. She was 46 years old. No cause of death is listed.

Marriage, Vindum parish register, page 17. Anton Frits Bidstrup born September 11, 1835 in Salbjerg parish, confirmed November 8, 1850, vaccinated May 24, 1836 marries Mette Marie Hermansen born May 20, 1841 in Vindum, confirmed in 1855 and vaccinated May 19, 1842. The date is September 26, 1865.

Witnesses were Ane Kirstine Andreasen of Hedegaard, Bodil Marie Christensen Vinther of Vindum, Anders Nielsen of Brandstrup, Niels Peter Andersen and Laust Sorensen of Faarup.

Birth, Vindum parish register, page 76. Nielsine Nikoline Vilhelmine Bidstrup born on December 29, 1871. Witnesses were Sigaurd? J Pedersen and Bodil Marie Christensen of Faarup, Niels Knudsen and Mads Post? and Peder Nicolaisen of Brandstrup. She was christened in the church April 1, 1872.

Birth, Vindum parish register, page 91. Johanne Laura Antionette Bidstrup born June 17, 1875 and christened October 17, 1875. Witnesses were Maren J Jensen ?, and Carl P Hedegaard of Brandstrup, Peder Andersen of Branstrup and Soren Andersen and Niels Christensen of Faarup.

1880 Elsborg Census, page 33. Anthon Frits Bistrup was 44 and his birth is Slagelse Kjobstad. Mette Marie is 38. Living with them are Ane Marie Sophie, age 12, Carl Gustav Herman, age 10, Nielsine Nicoline Vilhelmine, age 8, Johanne Laura Anthonette, age 4, and Herman Christian Vinther, age 2. All children and mother are listed as born in Vindum. I don't know what they were doing in Elsborg. This census was done in February of 1880. Their next child is born in Vindum later in the year as you'll see below.

Birth, Vindum parish register, page 32. Peter Emil Marius Bidstrup is born October 11, 1880 and christened October 24, 1880. Witnesses were Christen Laursen and M? Niels Bidstrup of Faarup. He was the 7th and last child that I've found for Anthon and Mette Marie.

1834 Vindum parish census, page 13. Herman is 33, Mette Marie is 23 and they have two children listed Niels, age 3, and an unbaptized son age 1.

1840 Vindum census, page 9. Herman Nielsen is an "Enkemand" or widower at the age of 39. He is a farmer who owns his plot of land. He has 4 children living with him: Niels, age 8, Nicolai, age 6, Mette Kirstine, age 3, and Johane Sine, age 1. They have a house girl Christine Nielsdatter, age 27.

1845 Vindum census, page 19. Herman and Mette Marie have both passed away. The children are living with Herman's second wife, Ane Marie Nielsdatter age 28, born in Vindum parish, and her second husband Christen Christensen, born in Bjerring parish, Viborg county. The children are Niels, age 14, Nicolai, age 11, and Mette Marie age 4. The other children Mette Kirstine, Johanne Sine and the second Niels Hermansen have all passed away.

1850 Vindum census, page 12. Christen Christensen is 31 years old. Ane Marie is 32. Nicolai is 16. Niels is not living with the family. Mette Marie is 9, and they have a new child, Allen Cathrine Christensen, age 2 born in Vindum. Christen's mother is living with them, the widow Ellen Jensdatter, age 75 born in Tapdrup parish, Viborg county.

Herman Nielsen: Only surviving child of Niels Hermansen

Confirmation, Vindum parish register, page 69. Hermand Nielsen of Vindum was confirmed 1816. Parents were Niels Hermansen and Mette Larsdatter of Vindum. He was 14 years old and 4 months.

Birth, Vindum parish register, page 19. I have not been able to find the marriage record of Herman Nielsen and his wife Mette Marie Nicolaisdatter but their first child was born Niels Hermansen on April 23, 1831 and christened in the church May 23. Witnesses were Maren Nicolaisen and Nicolai Andreasen of Hed? parish, Christen Madsen, Herman Hvam, Christen Sorensen Hvam of Vindum.

Birth, Vindum parish register, page 35. Nicolai Hermansen was born February 9, 1834 and christened in the church March 27. Witnesses were Ane Nicolaisen, Soren Lu?, Christen Madsen, A? Johansen and Johanne Pedersdatter of Vindum.

Birth, Vindum parish register, page 50. Mette Kirstine Hermansen, the third child of Herman and Mette Marie born Jan 24, 1837. She was blessed in the church March 19. Witnesses were Christen Pedersen, Kirsten Sorensdatter, Peder Christiansen, Soren Larsen?, Anders Laursen and Anders Sorensen Hvam of Vindum.

Death, Vindum parish register, page 252. Mette Kirstine Hermansen passes away August 25, 1840 and is buried August 30. She was three years, 7 months, 2 weeks and 6 days old. No cause of death is listed.

Birth, Vindum parish register, page 14. Johanne Sine Hermansen, fourth child, is born August 26, 1839. She is christened October 27 in the church. Witnesses were Anders Laustsen, Ane Hans?datter, Peder Back Sorensen L?, Peder Christiansen and Niels Birch? of Vindum.

Death, Vindum parish register, page 254. Johanne Sine Hermansen dies April 12, 1841 and is buried April 18, 1841. She was one year and 8 months. No cause of death is listed.

Death, Vindum parish register, page 252. Niels young wife Mette Marie Nicolaisdatter passes away on Christmas day, 1839 and is buried January 1, 1840. She was born in Hedagaard on April 2 or 28, 1811. She was 28 years and 8 months old. No cause of death is listed. Sadly, as listed above, Herman and Mette Marie's third child Mette Kirstine passes away 8 months later and is listed on the same page, two entries down.

Marriage, Vindum parish register, page 115. "Enkemand" Herman Nielsen age 38 marries Ane Marie Nielsdatter of Faarup, age 21 1/2 years. Laurs Moller of Faarup and Soren L? of Vindum are the witnesses. They are married June 16, 1840.

Birth, Vindum parish register, page 18. Mette Marie Hermansen is born May 20, 1841. She is Christened in the church on July 4. Witnesses are Andreas Nicolaisen and Johanne Pedersdatter of Hedegaard, Peder Bach, Soren Larsen L?, Anders Laursen and Niels Thomasen all of Vindum.

Birth, Vindum parish register, page 26. Birth of Niels Hermansen on May 4, 1843. Herman's first son was also named Niels but I cannot find his death in the Vindum records. I'm not sure why there are two Niels....seems confusing. He is christened in the church June 5. Witnesses were Soren ?ergaard, Kirsten Laur?datter of Vindum, Andreas Nicolaisen, Johanne Pedersdatter of Hedegaard, Peder Bach, Peder Christiansen of Vindum and Jens Bertelsen of Faarup.

Death, Vindum parish register, page 257. Death of father Herman Nielsen on June 29, 1843 and Niels Hermansen, his son, on October 28, 1843. Herman was buried July 6, 1843 and was 42 1/2 years old. Niels was buried November 5, 1843 and was 1/2 years old. No cause of death is listed for either.

Birth, Vindum parish register, page 163. Niels Hermansen is born July 23, 1758 or 9 p. Trinit to Herman Jensen of Vindum. Witnesses are difficult to decipher. He was the third son born to Herman Jensen.

Marriage, Vindum parish register, page 150. Niels Hermansen marries Mette Larsdatter on December 13, 1800. Both were from Vindum. Witnesses were Herman Jensen (Niels's father) and Soren Hvam, both of Vindum.

1801 Vindum parish census, page 12. Niels is 43 and is a farmer without any land ownership. His wife Mette (no last name is listed) is 36. His wife's mother, also named Mette, is living with them and is 74, making her born about 1727.

Birth, Vindum parish register, page 153. Herman is born on December 13, 1801 to father Niels Hermansen. It appears that he is Christened on December 27th. He is the first of two children born to Niels and Mette. He is carried by Noel (?) Jorgensdatter, and other witnesses I cannot decipher all from Vindum.

Birth, Vindum parish register, page 164. Laus born on 6 p Pasha or May 26, 1805 to Niels Hermansen. Witnesses were Christen Laursen, Soren Pedersen, Peder Bach, Soren Hvam and one other from Vindum. Laus is the 2nd and last child for Niels and Mette.

Death, Vindum parish register, page 169. Death of Laus Nielsen on March 8, 1807. Son of NIels Hermansen at the age of 1 year and 9 months.

Death, Vindum parish register, page 148. Niels Hermansen passes away at the age of 65 on July 31, 1823 and is buried August 3. He was a tenant farmer in Vindum. His brother Soren who also lived in Vindum passed away in 1816.

Death, Vindum parish register, page 244. Widow Mette Larsdatter passes away on May 15, 1830 at the age of 65 years. She resided in Vindum. She was buried May 20. I imagine she probably lived with her son Herman Nielsen until her death. There is no census between 1801 and 1834 to tell me if this happened.
